Paleo Orange Cardamom Hot Chocolate
A wonderfully warming winter drink with a touch of cardamom spice and orange extract.
Hot chocolate, delicious as is, can always be boosted with spice and extra flavor for a nice surprise. This recipe, made paleo with nut milk and maple syrup, has the wonderful addition of cardamom and orange extract. And it's so quick and easy to make!
This recipe requires little explanation, but there are a few items to note. Unsweetened chocolate chips are available at certain stores or online. If you cannot find unsweetened chips, you can use unsweetened baking chocolate. I typically prefer the chips in both flavor and ease of use.
Additionally, there are a wide variety of milks that can be used. I typically prefer almond milk, but any type of nut milk works. Coconut milk is another option if you don't mind the extra calories. The benefit is the added richness.
How to Make Paleo Orange Cardamom Hot Chocolate
To make this tasty beverage, first gather all the ingredients. Melt the chocolate chips in the nut milk in a small pot on medium heat, whisking so it is well blended and smooth. Once melted, remove from the heat and add the maple syrup, cardamom, and orange extract. Whisk again so all the ingredients are well combined and blended into a smooth beverage.
And that is all you need for your paleo orange cardamom hot chocolate! Pour into a mug and serve. Drink on an especially cold day while watching the snow fall. Enjoy!
