Breakfast Sausage
Although it's easy enough to purchase breakfast sausage, it's also easy to make. And one thing about making food from scratch is that it tastes so much better.
All you need for this is ground pork and spices, and a little maple syrup.
Place the pork in a bowl. In a separate bowl mix the spices and maple syrup. Pour over the pork and mix together with your hands. And there you have it!
Breakfast sausage is terrific shaped as a patty and cooked for breakfast or as an ingredient in other recipes. Enjoy!

Pork breakfast sausage easily made from scratch!
Ingredients
- 1 lb. raw ground pork
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground pepper
- 1/2 tsp ground sage
- 1/8 tsp dried marjoram
- 1/8 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 pinch ground cloves and ground nutmeg
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
Instructions
- Place raw ground pork in a bowl. Put maple syrup in a small bowl, then add the spices and stir. Pour the maple syrup spice mixture over pork. Mix together with your hands or a spoon.
- Cook as desired. For breakfast sausage, shape into 8 patties and cook on medium heat in a skillet for approximately 6-7 minutes on each side.
