Garlic Green Beans

- 4 cups green beans
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- salt to taste
- 2 tbsp almond slices, almond slivers, or crushed walnuts
In a large pot, boil 12 cups of water. When water is at a rolling boil, add green beans and turn down heat to medium high. Blanch green beans for 3 minutes. Pour cold water into a large bowl. Drain green beans and immediately immerse them in the bowl of cold water. Drain again when the green beans have cooled.
Heat a large skillet on medium heat and add olive oil. Add the minced garlic and stir about 30 seconds. Add green beans and saute while occasionally stirring for 3-4 minutes. Add salt to taste.
Plate green beans and add almond slices, almond slivers, or crushed walnuts.
